Fronius, a large solar PV inverter company, began manufacturing welders over 65 years ago in Austria and released their first solar inverter in 1998. Fronius Inverters opened up a headquarters in the United States in 2002, giving them a total of 5 worldwide locations. Fronius’ long tenure of successful welding technology has carried over into their solar inverters. In the last 10 years, they have established themselves as a leading innovator of grid-tied inverter technology and have become one of the largest residential solar inverter manufacturers.

Fronius is most known for their IG and IG Plus line of inverters, notably the 7.5kW IG Plus. This Fronius inverter is unique because it offers one of the largest capacities in a single residential sized inverter. Typically, a 7kW system will require two smaller inverters, but the Fronius 7.5kW IG Plus can accommodate the system with a single unit. This not only saves money on the purchase of an inverter, but also on conduit, wiring, and space needed for the required inverters.
