"Best Places To Work" - The 2008 New Mexico Business Weekly’s annual “Best Places to Work” competition honored Affordable Solar as #9 in their ranking of small businesses in Albuquerque. Employees were surveyed by Quantum Market Research Inc., a national polling and marketing company, to measure 38 attributes known to drive employee engagement. Questions were in 10 categories: team effectiveness, retention risk, alignment with goals, trust with co-workers, individual contribution, manager effectiveness, trust in senior leaders, feeling valued, work engagement and people practices. Based on their responses, companies were given a numerical score indicating employee satisfaction.

David - As the founder of Affordable Solar, David’s philosophy is to expand the use of solar energy through economically sound win-win partnerships. David started Affordable Solar in 1998 and has sold, consulted and managed in the renewable energy and energy efficiency fields for more than 20 years. Born in Montreal, David grew up in England and attended university in Scotland. With degrees in History/Philosophy and Environmental Technology, David is a life-long student and actively encourages his employees to grow and learn both within and outside the solar field. This passion has permeated the company’s collective philosophy, making Affordable Solar known for it’s commitment to customers and to renewable energy.

Aaron - As a graduate of UNM in Physics, Aaron has been able to utilize his education to help with the design engineering of many of our projects. Affordable Solar allows freedom and self-accountability, which has allowed him to take steps to help improve the organization. With camaraderie and support, and management’s faith in individual’s abilities, each individual has proven themselves to be significant toward the success of the organization. This position has also helped Aaron to take part in the green movement and become part of the solution to our sustainability problems.

Jonathan - Years of experience in low voltage electrical work as well as working in the service industry have helped Jonathan to excel at Affordable Solar. Working here offers many challenges in grasping the product line and helping customers to integrate the best possible system to meet their needs. He was drawn here because he is striving to make the world a cleaner place to ensure a sustainable environment. His favorite word is pneumonoultramicroscopicsilocovolcanoconiosis. Nate - He began his career at Affordable Solar in 1998 as the first employee and has only grown in his passion for the field. Nate has designed and installed solar systems from New Mexico to Antarctica, and is always looking for opportunities to work with solar in other places. Nate also brings a love for New Mexico and the possibility for growth and development for the state. The culture of the organization has helped to foster his abilities and allowed him to build a great career. Nate has also at the forfront of the Native American Renewable Power Project.

Quinn - One of the lower pantheon of Greek/Roman gods affected by the religious cuts of 380 A.D., Quinn found temporary employment with a traveling medicine sales & entertainment troupe. For a number of years after the Great Depression, following a brief two decade stint as an itinerant traveler, Quinn was known as “the Ziegfeld of Tenderloin”, in no way was this an exaggeration. We are delighted to have him and are excited about the special gifts he brings to the ASG Sales/System Design team and this lowly mortal coil.

Mark - Comes to us with a background in Computer and Information Sciences and engineering. Mark’s experience includes software engineer, hardware engineer, nuclear safeguards, super computer networking, and technical writing. He brings a love of the environment, animals and transformation. His personal beliefs mesh well with the company vision. Mark strives to be the change he wishes to see in the world and believes that an enlightened change in consciousness is the fastest and surest path to making the human race great.

Sammie - With a bachelor’s degree in English and journalism, Sammie brings her writing skills and other knowledge to Affordable Solar. The world of solar is all new Sammie, but she is eager to learn more and aide consumers to join the solar movement. Aside from working at the office, Sammie enjoys knitting and spending time with her Jack Russell Terrier, Zoey.

Patrick - (born 13 July 1940) is an English film, television and stage actor. He has had a distinguished career in theatre for nearly fifty years, including performances as various characters in Shakespearean productions. However, he is perhaps most widely known for his television and film roles as Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation, and Professor Xavier in the X-Men films.

Johnny - With a background in Visual Communication from IAIA, Johnny brings a wealth of knowledge and passion for the field. He has always shown love for the environment and knows that working here will offer him the chance to spring board his career in the solar field. The work environment is oriented on developing relationships and putting your heart into the work, which has allowed him to grown into his own in his position.

Vero - Veroncé Giffele Knowles (born September 4, 1981), best known mononymously as Veroncé (pronounced /verːˈɒnseɪ/), is an American R&B singer, songwriter, record producer and actress. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, she enrolled in various performing arts schools, and was first exposed to singing and dancing competitions as a child. Knowles rose to fame in the late 1990s as the lead singer of the girl group Kismet's Child. Knowles has sold more than 50 million records worldwide with the group.

Nestor - Working his way through the ranks, Nestor has moved from envelope stuffer to Shipping Warehouse Manager. Working here is providence; it is a great place to work with people that care about the individual. The environment is filled with gracious, real people who bring a sense of family, which really gives individuals the chance to flourish. In his free time, Nestor enjoys Thai Boxing, Philosophizing, and going to school.

Susan - She brings a wealth of experience in service management, and sales service. She is challenged daily and realizes her significance in the organization as an individual. Working at a high speed pace and working with the great group of people makes it easy to make Affordable Solar a success. The company culture lends itself to individuals and their success as an interracial part of the success of the company, which only helps to motivate each individual.

Sherry - Having spent many years in sales, Sherry brings a great personality and an awesome ability to work with people. This job has offered her great independence, which allows her to really show herself as an invaluable asset to the organization. She was first drawn to Affordable Solar because she is an environmentalist at heart and believes passionately that the future is still in our hands.

Jim – As a graduate from the University of Connecticut, Jim utilizes his skills in Management Information Systems to help the computer side of Affordable Solar run smoothly. He has found the job to be challenging and exciting because of the multiple disciplines that he has had the opportunity to work with. Jim finds that working in this environment has helped him to gain a broader knowledge in the solar field, which has helped to increase his awareness in the sustainable frontier. Outside of work, he is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys video games.

Christa – A graduate from the University of New Mexico in Economics and a minor in business, she brings her experience and cheerful personality to the team. It was fate that she began her career at Affordable Solar. She loves the flexibility of the organization, which helps her to balance her work and personal life.

Bob – Has a MBA from Tulane University. He has years of experience under his belt and came out of retirement for the excitement of working at a company, which is at the cutting edge in the solar field. On his free time, Bob enjoys training for marathons and going on solo backpacking endurance competitions.

Ryan – With 12 years of web site development and marketing, Ryan works to provide product and "how-to" information for Affordable Solar’s Internet customers. Ryan attended the University of New Mexico and managed large news websites across the U.S. before working as a green builder. Ryan’s interests include sustainable home design, wood working, reading, running, and jazz music.
