"Best Places To Work" - The 2008 New Mexico Business Weekly’s annual “Best Places to Work” competition honored Affordable Solar as #9 in their ranking of small businesses in Albuquerque. Employees were surveyed by Quantum Market Research Inc., a national polling and marketing company, to measure 38 attributes known to drive employee engagement. Questions were in 10 categories: team effectiveness, retention risk, alignment with goals, trust with co-workers, individual contribution, manager effectiveness, trust in senior leaders, feeling valued, work engagement and people practices. Based on their responses, companies were given a numerical score indicating employee satisfaction. |

David Hughes, President-CEO
As the founder of Affordable Solar, David’s philosophy is to expand the use of solar energy through economically sound win-win partnerships. David started Affordable Solar in 1998 and has sold, consulted and managed in the renewable energy and energy efficiency fields for more than 20 years. Born in Montreal, David grew up in England and attended university in Scotland. With degrees in History/Philosophy and Environmental Technology, David is a life-long student and actively encourages his employees to grow and learn both within and outside the solar field. This passion has permeated the company’s collective philosophy, making Affordable Solar known for it’s commitment to customers and to renewable energy. |
Nathaniel Curtis - Director of Wholesale (Commercial)
He began his career at Affordable Solar in 1998 as the first employee and has only grown in his passion for the field. Nate has designed and installed solar systems from New Mexico to Antarctica, and is always looking for opportunities to work with solar in other places. Nate also brings a love for New Mexico and the possibility for growth and development for the state.

Bob Dawson - Controller
Bob came out of retirement to bring his years of business management and finance experience to a company at the cutting edge of the solar field. In his free time, Bob enjoys training for marathons and going on solo backpacking endurance competitions. |
Ryan Wallace - Director of Wholesale (Residential)
Ryan leads Affordable's rapidly growing wholesale residential business. His department brings proven market development methods, business tools, marketing, and most importantly; a strong supply chain to solar installers. Ryan attended the University of New Mexico and managed large news websites across the U.S. before working as a green builder. Ryan spends his free time reading, wood working, and training for triathlons. |
