Although the online shipping quote was $20 for UPS ground, after a phone call to their sales person it got trimmed to quite reasonable $9. A small hick-up (the item had to be exchanged becasue their supplier shipped the wrong item) got resolved by them rushing the replacement UPS red. Nice people, great customer service, great prices." Your shipment has arrived and was handed over to me with no problem. You never know what happens with customs here but, everything has worked out perfectly. The panel looks really great and is smaller and handier than what I expected. I think it will work out great for our expedition. I just recieved an email from susan.armstrong@affordable-solar.com and I am truly shocked and over-joyed to hear her response. I am building my own portable solar generator and I have been doing research and reading up for a while. Yesterday I felt I was ready to buy a portable solar cell to get started tinkering around.

I shopped around online for hours and found a portable solar panel that would meet my needs at another site. I admit their price was almost a dollar lower than yours... so I went for it. Got to check out and my order would not process. Tried again, order would not process. Called them, nobody answered. I figured I'd call them this morning and see whats up with my order. Nobody answered. I said to myself, lets find another way.

Back to the drawing board and more pricing research found me www.affordable-solar.com! Your price on the same product was competitive and I decided I would go through you guys, and why not go ahead and tack on a charge controller since I was spending so much energy making this happen.

On my order form I wrote... "Can I get the nice guy discount please?" haha I usually search for web coupons on sites like supercoupon.com but none were available for solar products. To wrap all this up, I come back to my computer and check on my email only to find that I did not recieve the nice guy discount....I got the nice guy coffee mug! Which is even better :O)

In this day of online shopping it is VERY refreshing to have a conversation with a company that can do it both ways, on line or on the phone...So when I'm done traveling and decide to cover the roof of my small Kansas prairie house with solar panels, guess who I'm going to call?
