There are many wire, breaker and bus bar connections that are made in Battery Based Renewable Energy systems. For years, RE installers and DIY'ers had to customize existing breakers, boxes and enclosures to meet these needs. Robin Gudgel, Head Engineer of Trace, OutBack and now his own company, MidNite Solar, was able to foresee the need for UL/ETL listed enclosures and breaker boxes for Battery Based RE systems. The MidNite Solar E-Panel was born of this foresight, and thrives to this day! Inverter manufactures eventually began to see the need for these types of power distribution products. Power Panels, as we call them, provide safe, NEC approved enclosures to make Battery Based system connections and terminations.
