RapidRac G10
The RapidRac® G10 has an efficient design. Built at a fixed 10 degree tilt angle, this ballast solution optimizes natural convective cooling of the modules and was designed to meet the requirements of current applicable building codes.

The Rapidrac G10 was developed through significant computational fluid dynamics and wind tunnel engineering. The efficient design, built at a fixed 10 degree tilt angle, optimizes natural convective cooling of the modules and was designed to meet the requirements of current applicable building codes.
UniRac offers an attachment option for the Rapidrac G10, the RapidFoot, which can be used for seismic restraint and for ballast trade off, allowing for a reduction in roof dead load.
The general rules are:
- Rapidrac is currently available only at 10 degrees fixed tilt
- All modules are racked landscape
- East/West dimension = Length of the modules (round up to nearest inch) x number of modules in row
- North/South dimension = [(Module Width (rounded up to nearest inch) + 16") x number of modules in column] + 16” for the extra north ballast pan
- A continuous array (sub-array) is one where all the rows share ballast trays between them.
Grounding and Ballast
- UniRac supplies WEEB 9.5 grounding clips with the Rapidrac components.
- The grounding clips electrically bond all the modules and Rapidrac components in a sub-array.
- Some inspectors require more than one ground lug for each continuous array.
- In the end, run the ground wire through the ground lugs on each sub-array.
- In the North/South direction you must have ballast pan/module/ballast pan/module/ballast pan. …so you add an additional ballast pan on the north of each column
- Additional ballast pans are required where a column stops for a hole in the racking to accommodate an air conditioner or similar obstruction on the roof
- UniRac specifies Solid Cap Concrete Blocks (4" x 8" x 16", 26 lbs) for ballasting the array.
